Everything they claim plus more!I was looking for the best underlayment product money can buy and found this product. It had been recommended by a friend that used it and a professional installer also insisted upon it. I also took the time to read the reviews and I called the factory for additional information. I had a previous 1000 square foot carpeted cement floor and the carpet needed replacement. we liked the look of vinyl but knew we would need a good underlayment. ECF is that product and more. Waterproof with a vapor barrier, cushioning effect but not spongy. The easiest product to ever put down. Lays flat. a unique way of attaching to each other making for a perfect fit and easy to cut and shape where shaping is needed. It seems a bit pricey but consider the long term use it provides it is really not meaningful. Having the best underlayment is the most important consideration when putting down any flooring. First issue: One box does not cover 54 sq. feet. It is more along the lines of 15 sq. feet. It is close to five dollars a square foot at 15 square feet instead of a little over a dollar for 54 square feet. Second issue: Flooring is shipped in original packing which does protect it from damage from shipping. Only two of my planks were not chipped or cracked. Rustic split bamboo slat fences have been used for centuries in many regions of the world where bamboo is available. It's definitely more see-through than I would've liked, but it does the job in terms of giving you a decent amount of privacy. The quality is okay, not great...some of the reeds are broken on some ends, and some of the dark parts make it look like the wood is rotting. Lastly, for stability, you do need something to tie it to; for both apartments, ours has been against concrete slabs, so we end up leaving it at an angle and then putting something heavy against the base on both ends to keep it up. For context, the first three pictures are from the initial apartment I used it at right after we bought it; the last picture is after nearly 1.5 years and a move to a new apartment. I love the look of these bamboo panels on the wall. Each panel weighs around 15 lbs. It has a thin cotton cloth that is attached to the back that holds it together. Bamboo is tough to cut through without splintering, so doing the edges and spaces for outlets was very time consuming with snips. If you are not good with math and have alot of cuts to do, you may want to have this professionally done. I am going to need to get one more for completion prior to starting on the borders. This was done over what was going to be a mural, but I fell in love with the look of these! For installation, I used spray adhesive directly on the perimeter of the wall only on the part that was getting the panel. When that was tacky, I then used plain Liquid Nails as an adhesive again applied directly to the wall all over the part to be paneled, then placed the cut bamboo panel onto the adhesive by lining up the side and bottom to the appropriate places. It stays up that way on its own while drying. I then took a rag and while making sure the cut ends matched up to the angles that it was cut for, smoothed it out to adhere to glue underneath, from left to right, working from the bottom to top. Then repeated that process for the top half. They layer well together. I got a few small splinters while cutting these, so you may want to use gloves. I am very pleased with the way they came out so far, and it would be much easier to do if you have 2 people for installation. I have found them to be quite durable for this indoor wall application, and it definitely is very pretty in person. So far I am very impressed. Bought the grey scale for our basement. Product looks great, sticks nicely, easy to work with. My 13 year old and I laid about 140sqft in just under 3 hours. My recommendations are to definitely do a good job of prepping the surface. We did a serious scrape and vacuum. Then mopped with simple green and then laid down am adhesion primer.
