This pressure cooker is large and deep with a capacity to can several jars at once. It didn't come with a rack and the recipe book is limited but the rack can be ordered and you can look up any recipe you can think of on your phone. As a beginning canner I thought the directions were lacking. The canner works great and will get much use. I would suggest customers watch canning videos to learn proper procedures on use and safety before using. It would have more stars if directions were better. I ordered the Barton 7.4 Quart Pressure Cooker for canning. The item arrived very quickly and was extremely well packaged. The pressure cooker is very easy to use and the top is extremely easy to open and close unlike a lot of pressure cookers. Unfortunately, the pressure cooker does not come with a rack to put jars on, so you will need to either purchase a rack or use extra lids in the bottom to place the jars on. There is no pressure gauge on the pressure cooker so you really can’t be sure what pressure you are using. There is a nice safety feature on the steam port to keep it from getting clogged. It also has a safety feature on the handle that under pressure it will lock not allowing you to open while still under pressure. The clean up for canning is super easy, mild soap and water did just fine. All and all the Barton 7.4 Quart Pressure Cooker is recommended for 8 ounce or 12 ounce sized jars but will not work for 16 ounce sized jars. Just arrived and it huge ! I’m excited to try it , but it looks so nice with a solid pot , lid and tray with handles .
