I love this table because it is a little more narrow than the standard dining table, and I love the fact that you can add or take away the leaf that is included! I missed two delivery windows because I was not aware it came with white glove service even if you didnt request it. The first table came very damaged so they sent a replacement. That also had a minor paint issue and the hinges to extend the table did not work 100 I eventually worked out a compromise with wayfair because I was not confident a 3rd table wouldnt also be damaged and I was really attached to the length of the table because I have a large dining area. This table is really great value, esp. being solid wood and having the option to extend. I thought from other reviews it might feel rough or even splintery, but it definitely doesn’t to me. The finish of the table wasn’t fully what I expected, which is why I removed one star. It’s a little shiny and looks cheaper than I wanted in certain lights. The extension mechanism also works pretty well. It takes some getting used to and isn’t super smooth every time. But it works with some finagling. And of course, the white glove delivery assembly was awesome. Update December 2025: with minimal use and a protective cover, this table has issues with the top. The inlay seemed to shrink? I added a photo of the gap. I only found out today when I removed the cover (it was time for a new one, which I have done once before because, again, minimal use). I am not even sure how to fix this... .... To be fair, this was just delivered. The table is solid and hefty. The color is very dark, almost a gray black, which is fine by me. You definitely need 2 people to put this together - I opted to have installation and I don't regret it! The table is big even without the leaf (see pic with chairs - yes, I have 8 chairs but took 2 out for a better pic). Either end space doesn't pull up close to the table because of the legs, but when you sit in the chair it is very comfortably spaced. Under the table, when sitting on the side chairs, it is very comfortable too, with decent elbow room (yes, even whithout the leaf and 3 chairs per side). Like others said, around the top's edge is a gap so you might need toothpicks to clean the groove, but it isn't obnoxious. The leaf gap is tight with the clamps in place, so that is also good. The extension mechanism is a chain wheel so it is smooth to pull apart. That said, i would assume it needs to be checked every so often. I can't speak to that since I just got the table.. Sheri. Let me start off by saying that shopping for furniture online is quite the task. My floors are a light, neutral color.
