I could not be more delighted and impressed with the Serta Plush Polyester Heated Mattress Pad! What an brilliant idea! I have had many electric blankets over the years and though they can certainly help keep you warm during cold nights you can always feel the lumpy line of wiring that is really not very beneficial for a comfortable night’s rest. To add, if you are anything like us and let our pets curl up with us the risk for wire damage is always present. Some of those electric blankets only had one or two settings. This one has TEN!!! I love that it goes on the mattress like a mattress pad cover under the fitted sheet. The wiring is much smaller, more flexible, and does not feel lumpy. No worries with having any furry friends for a sleep over! The fabric is like velour. It is so very soft. The mattress pad cover fits our queen size mattress perfectly with plenty enough reach to be secure over the sides. It is a bright white and looks pristine on the mattress. It comes with TWO controllers so that means there are dual adjustment capabilities- not just one – again quite a nice design if there are two sleepers with different preferences for warmth. It warms evenly. There are no hot spots. But wait, there’s more! There is a timer that allows you to have it automatically shut off. To add, there are reinforced slots on the underside of the blanket for the power cords of the controllers to be inserted through. The connectors make a solid connection to the power cord and are designed to not pull apart without an intentional effort. So, no worries that the heated mattress pad cover could become disconnected during use. You know what is even better? It is machine washable! The only thing that was odd, and I believe it may be a typo, is that the description states it is 15” thick. It is not even 1 inch thick. So disregard that part of the description. It is a lightweight fabric that may be closer to a quarter inch thick. Great item for a cold night. Unfortunately I got this after Oklahoma winter was over ...or so we thought. First part of April temp dropped again and I rushed home from work to put on my bed. .it went on easy enough but did create a small issue trying to cover with fitted sheet. I would definitely make sure to do corners that are hard to get get done first. But it was well worth the additional struggle once I got in bed and sheets were warm. It has dual controls so I could adjust my husbands side to. off and mine was high. I jokingly told my husband if he could feel the warmth he was on my side of the bed!. I bought a similar product and had mom try it out. She liked the idea, but she wanted a pad that was warmer, whether it was turned on or not and so she chose the sherpa version. We both have found these heated pads to be excellent. She uses hers a lot more than I do, but when I am chilled or hurting, I just turn on my side of the bed to the level that I want and I am instantly relieved. My husband appreciates that the controls are for each side of the bed, so I can have my side heated, but he doesn't have to have his side heated. My dad had a stroke and he is always complaining about how cool the house is and this has also given him an option to warm his side if he is chilled. If you want a warm mattress pad with the added benefit of quick heat that covers head to toe, this will be a great choice. It works like a heating pad but is not limited to one spot. I have only used the first couple of settings and it gets plenty warm. If it is too hot, just turn the dial down to low. This purchase also introduced another great place for online shopping since my mom and dad are limiting the places they go.
