I have been looking for just the right pieces to enhance the area over my mantel and these fit the bill. Installation entails using two screws to apply a plate which the lights fit over. It took around four hours to charge them initially; I can't speak to how well they hold a charge as we didn't really purchase them for extra light. Charging is as easy as charging your phone and they come with two charge cords. They do have dimmers and a remote. This wall sconce has all of the bells and whistles included. First of all it is not hardwired so no special skills needed for installation, almost anyone can just hang it. It is rechargeable so no pricey batteries to replace either. Depending on the brightness you prefer you will get 10 to 40 hours of use in one charge. You do need to supply 2 AAA batteries for the remote though. You can just touch the top of the shade to manually control the light or use the remote. There are 3 different light temperatures to suit your preference and within those you may choose brightness as well. I like the nightlight button on the remote to really dim it down. In addition this can be set to turn off at 30, 60, or 120 minutes using the remote. It is the perfect lighting for a dark corner in my office. Wherever you don't have space for a lamp this is ideal. It is decorative and functional.. The shade can be ordered in smooth or pleated and is not fabric. The base is black metal and the shade is black plastic material so I can easily wipe it clean. We wanted to elevate the look in our dining area. These fluted wall sconces really did the trick! The space went from meh to marvelous. Installation was easy. Removing them from the bracket to charge is a simple task. Although each sconce came with it’s own remote and batteries, we are able to use one to operate both. If they are used often, I would suggest charging at night and replacing them on the wall the next morning. This will allow for longer use.
