I love this desk, and it is not perfect. This is reclaimed wood, so it is not the desk for you if you want something with bland flawlessness. It is also very solid, heavy, and made from real wood - no particle board or veneer. The top is smooth, well finished and stained, and provides a lot of room for work. When I saw it online, I was a little worried that the black stabilizer bar would hit my shins, but I haven't felt it at all. Some people complained about the decorative board across the floor, but I actually like resting my feet on this. I'm 5'8" and feel pretty comfortable (though a slightly higher chair might be something I'll want eventually). The roughest part of the reclaimed wood is in the drawers (particularly the bases). There are nail holes in the bases that go all the way through. There are also old nail holes in the drawer fronts. Again - this is part of the reclaimed wood charm of the piece, and it's fine as long as you realize this is the style. Everything is well sanded and smooth, and I like that the front corners are sanded down a bit. This should protect them from getting dinged up and looking frayed later. I had one complaint about a manufacturing defect (the only reason I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars), and Wayfair was great in working with me on that. I really appreciate their customer service - I think this may be where Wayfair particularly shines with respect to other online retailers. I'm also glad I paid the extra $19 to have the delivery guy get it up the stairs, but I had no problem assembling it by myself in less than an hour.. Naomi. Fort Worth, TX. 2019-01-21 11:16:21
