Really, really firm, getting used to the coils after restless sleeping on a memory foam mattress. Mattress arrived packaged well in plastic and cardboard. After almost 8 months it's still perfect for us, No sagging. It was highly rated by consumer reports and they mentioned that it's on the firmer side which we wanted. Since we have had such bad luck choosing mattresses from local stores that we have gone and tested, we decided to take a chance on this one online. So glad we did! Nice and firm with no indentations where we sleep so far. I'll update if anything changes. We also liked the Wayfair guarantee and their customer service is good as well. I tried this bed before purchasing it off Wayfair, so I already knew I like it. It’s super comfortable and was delivered in great shape. It sits super high up but I prefer that. This bed is amazing. I am undoing years of lumbar and cervical damage caused by a daily sedentary office reality. The mattress is firm. I wouldn't say xtra firm. I've slept on firmer at upscale b&bs/hotels but it gives you a good nights sleep. It's gorgeous (I have a studio so aesthetics are important). You will need deep fitted sheets. I purchased this mattress to replace a older memory foam that did not have the gel memory foam. It was 2:00 pm when it was delivered. I unpacked this mattress and put it on my bed. I know you are suppose to wait 24-48 hours for it to expand and decompress. The first night it felt very soft and I thought oh no. The next night it had firmed up and was absolutely perfect. I slept all night and didn't wake up hot or sweaty. The third night it was more comfortable than I could have ever imagined. Do yourself a favor and purchase this mattress. I love the 16 inch height and this is firm but soft and supportive! when you lay on this your first reaction is oh this is firm but just soft enough. husband and I sleep great.making the bed up every morning si easier all the sheets stay in place.
