The color was darker than I expected, but it's a beautiful rich dark brown, so I'm very happy with it. It's very distressed, with nail holes throughout on the table top. I love that the leaf lives as part of the table and doesn't have to be stored separately. The only thing I'd change about this table, is that each piece of wood used would be individually stained, as there are some tiny areas where there is separation in the wood slats, and if you look carefully you can see the original color of the wood in those spaces.
