We like our coffee strong, so I push the settings envelope to get it to our taste, but it does fine. This is my very first Burr grinder. After reading many reviews from different sites, I selected the Capresso Infinity Plus. I did my homework, read the manual very carefully, highlighted important info and researched correct ways to clean the grinder (U-tube videos were very helpful). Then feeling comfortable, used the grinder. I was very pleased and happy with the Capresso grinder. It's quiet, easy to assemble and use with satisfying results. Granted, it does takes more effort to clean the grinder over a simple blade grinder (which I've had for many years) but I do not mind that. I feel this is the perfect coffee grinder for my needs and am enjoying a better tasting cup of coffee. The manual strongly advises never to grind "in advance". My husband and I tried a "coffee tasting" in which we tasted a freshly ground cup of coffee over a batch of previously ground coffee sealed in an air tight container and we could not taste the difference. So, I decided to grind about a 5 day batch at a time and we have been completely satisfied. The only reason I have given a 4 star rating was due to my accidently dropping the removeable upper burr soft collar down (instead of up) into the bean grinder. Once that happens, there is no way to retrieve it. The manual states (pg 6) to "Make sure the soft plastic collar of the upper burr is in place." It does not explain that you are SOL if it is dropped in backwards. Although I was being very careful, I still made the mistake because for one split second I was distracted. When I called and spoke with a very pleasant, professional and helpful Wayfair representative (Jamie), I completely owned up to my mistake even though I was not aware of the finality of that simple mistake. She quickly ordered me another grinder and it will soon be delivered. I call that excellent service and I will continue to order from Wayfair. Otherwise, I would give this grinder a 5 star rating. Now that I know, I will be extra careful to reinsert the upper burr with the soft plastic collar in the UP position. Machine itself is fine, but the results have been disappointing. I was hoping for coffee as good as that which is done in my French Press and it isn’t. I added more ground beans, added less water, and set on strongest setting as recommended. Coffee still tastes watery and lacks flavor, but it is better than my drip grind machine does.. Cindy. My husband is a big coffee lover. He had a cheap grinder forever, and it finally gave out. I wanted to get him a good grinder for a change. After some pretty heavy research I chose this one because the internal parts don't have plastic. The plastic can get chewed up and you find bits and pieces in your coffee. I didn't want that and I was willing to pay more to get something that would last and be safer. It's also pretty quiet. I got this to replace a small machine that is no longer made. I actually like the frother better than the one I had before, there are less pieces to lose or break .
