Easy assembly, but it’s a lot of Allen screws and brackets with a few bolts. I’m single, and I unboxed (2 boxes) this alone, and was able to assemble the bed on less than 2 hours, and maybe another 45 min on the trundle another day. The quality appears to be excellent. I bought an 8” mattress from amazon and it fits fine on the top, but you will need 5-6” trundle mattress, 8” is too big for bottom. I’m glad I only got one mattress to try on both first. Really nice, and the price is right! I’ve had this bed now for more than one year, and it has held up great. We use it in a rentalguest cottage, and it gets quite a bit of use. We have an extra long XL twin Memory foam mattress on the top, and a regular twin memory foam mattress on the trundle. The top mattress is 10 inches thick, and the bottom mattress is 8 inches thick. 8 inches for the trundle mattress is just about right. If you really want to be able to slide the trundle out easily, I would suggest that as your maximum depth. I had a cover made for the top by someone on Etsy so that when It’s made up as a couch, it has a little bit of an upholstered feel. I plan on ordering this bed again for another room. I will likely choose the exact same mattress configuration. A regular twin mattress on top would work fine, too. I just wanted it to be kind of a snug fit without gaps.. Sara. This bed frame is beautiful and sturdy. I’m in love with it. I’ve slept on it for a week with a great new mattress and it supports the mattress fully with no shakiness as I move around. The box was packed very securely, all pieces in tact. The box was heavy, but each individual piece was very managble to lift by myself. Instructions were clear and concise. Took me about an hour to assemble. I did need an assistant to hold certain pieces in place as I screwed them together. That assistant was my 75 year old mother who has physical limitations and she had no problem holding things steady for me. I would highly recommend this daybed frame.. LS.
