I looked at so many similar models since I was originally looking for a bunk bed with a slide. This one is on the smaller (shorter) side so it works better for toddlers and younger children. You could still squeeze a second mattress underneath (as pictured in some listings) but it would be too easy to bump their head. The tower doesnt come with attachments so it can be moved around or very easily knocked over if used on the slide (zip ties recommended). Kids have to be careful climbing onto the slide from the mattress (can be quite a drop depending on mattress thickness). The whole bed will rock a little from kids climbing and playing on it but sturdy enough without having to mount it to the wall. Assembly and directions could be a lot better. Our package came without instructions, which Wayfair responded to promptly by reaching out to the manufacturer and emailing instructions within 24 hours. The instructions were still not clear since parts arent labeled in some of the diagrams and some of the actual parts are numbered differently. Some parts have a velcro strip attached (for attaching the cloth tent) but arent marked in the instructions so you have to watch where you put them or else youll end up pulling apart and rebuilding the bed.
