I thought it was nearly perfect in the design but I think one of the attributes is not ideal. The hammock in the middle is kinda low to the platform below it, making it kinda difficult for the cat the get from the platform to the left of the hammock to the next one, slightly higher on the right. I wish the hammock was a board or higher up. Other than that, it’s really good. My friend and me built it in under an hour. I got it because it’s just about 18” below the tops of my kitchen cabinets. So she can climb the tower then traverse the cabinet tops. I have been thinking about removing the hammock and replacing it with a board. We shall see. My cat jumped right into the nice size 15” wide bed there. Its plenty sturdy for my 2 - 12 lb. cats. And has a nice firm 24” x 20” sq. wood base . The reason i gave it 4 stars because IT IS NOT CHOCOLATE BROWN as pictured which is what I wanted. It is a med beige tan, see photo. Disappointing but I am keeping it and my two cats love it. I LOVE this cat tree and actually own 2 of them now. However, they both have a propensity to tip over so I bought landscaping blocks to set on the base to prevent that. It looks tacky but it does the trick. I've owned a lot of cat trees over the years and have learned what my fellas really like are enclosed perches where they can curl up and not worry about falling off. This one has plenty big circular beds at multiple levels which are easy to get up and down from. Even my old guy can get to the top. A lot of times cat trees aren't designed for function like that. This one is. Mine arrived with part of it hanging out of the very large box but thankfully it wasn't damaged. You DO need to screw in the top perch with the 4 screws provided. It was a little challenging lining it up exactly centered but I finally got it after measuring and moving it back and forth multiple times. Absolutely recommend this tree if you have large or “big-boned” cats! I have three boy cats, one is long and very tall and one is chonky so they can pull a regular tree right over. They throw themselves on this tree and it barely moves. They love the soft faux fur and the extra cushion. It looks beautiful too and I love the real wood posts.
