The pictures of these do not do these placemats justice. They are quite substantial, and they feel like they will hold up for a long time. The sides are painted gold which, for cork placements like these, is unusual. They are a beautiful matte navy with gold accents. The gold isn’t shiny but there is a difference in the shine between the navy and the gold. It almost jumps off the surface.
