I searched extensively for a non-wood product that actually looked like real wood and was substantial. This is it. Installation was a breeze if you’re handy with a drill and saw. We used our old 3x3 mail post (with the mailbox support removed) and this post slid right over it. Saved us the step of having to sink a new post into cement, which was huge. This is very well made and strong. I was very happy with this post and I purchased the Ambrose mailbox from Wayfair also. I liked that the top of the post was closer to the mailbox. I am not fond of the post being 6-10 inches about the mailbox it looks a little off and dated. I especially picked this one because the lighthouse bracket from Esty would only fit on this mailbox post. It really makes the mailbox look so nice. Super happy with purchase.. Patty. The post and mailbox are well made and were delivered with no damage. My husband installed the post over an existing 4X4 wooden post from a previous post. I just wish the mailbox was larger.
