These throws are terrific. They are lightweight, but boy do they keep you warm in the winter. You can keep the heat lower to save on electricity, and you can still stay warm at the same time. They also wash very well, and they keep their consistency. I only had pilling on the initial wash. I just put it into the washing machine ,hoping to soften the feel of the fabric. I find it is coarse ,but not unpleasant on the bed. Not a warm snuggly blanket , but I did purchase two of them , to "build" warmth on the cool dewy summer and early fall mornings in California. Fingers crossed on the results of the washing and drying. Appears to be made well enough to withstand wear , definitely not a high end blanket...good for the summer cottage. Colors are muted ,. but goes w/ any color scheme. UPDATE: The blankets washed/dried well and the fabric is definitely softer I notice a small degree of fading, but nothing to ruin the appearance of the blankets. Thanks to the reviews I read, I checked the dryer at the half way mark, cleaning the lint screen, removing a "handful" of cotton shedding...wow. The shape of the blanket was maintained and no loss of stitching...love them even MORE! I would purchase them again and recommend them for all who seek a light covering for summer and early fall again...not a dressy blanket ,perfect for the days of summer and relaxation; for the kids' use and no fears for hard wear.. This is a beautiful blanket. It's light weight but warm, somehow. It's a light gray just like I needed and the pattern is lovely. My only complaint at all is that it snags kind of easily. It's worse because I have two cats that constantly fight over laying on it when I fold it up and they do have claws and that's something that I can't fix. But all in all, it's a wonderful blanket.
