This would be a beautiful piece if not for the fact that there were issues with the way it was packaged. The legs, packed in a box inside of the cabinet, became lodged in the top drawer, wedged so tightly in such a manner that it could not be shaken loose and the drawer could not be opened. The method of packaging the cabinet should be changed. The drawer was jammed shut with dislodged styrofoam and the box of legs were jammed tightly above the frame of the drawer. It was impossible to open it without some damage to the drawer occurring. Besides the above unfortunate occurrence, there was also a bit of damage that the cabinet came with, including a scratch on the top and a ding in the wood on the side. Damage to the front edges of the drawers occurred from trying to wedge the top drawer open far enough (millimeter by millimeter) in order to gouge the block of styrofoam out, bit by bit, so the legs would be free to drop down far enough that the drawer would open. It would have been a beautiful cabinet had not these problems occurred. The drawers are well-made. The top drawer is lined on the bottom. I am disappointed because of the unfortunate packaging and the damage. Advice for the furniture company I have had this happen once before with another company. Never pack anything into a top drawer! If you must pack it in a drawer, put it in the bottom drawer (if there is an open space between the drawers) so the top drawer can be removed and the contents in the bottom drawer revealed and adjusted so it can be opened.. Always such fast shipping with Wayfair, even during this horrible virus, so A+ for that. This is a lovely cabinet and is perfect for my family room to keep my granddaughter's books organized. The design on the outside is beautiful, which is the reason I purchased the piece. However, the inside was very sloppily put together. It doesn't affect the use of the cabinet, but being a perfectionist, it annoys me to see such sloppy work inside. I am keeping the cabinet because I love it and will fill in with caulk myself to try and improve the inside. I would have given 5 stars being I love it and want to keep it, but the company that manufactures it doesn't deserve 5 starts with the inside of a cabinet like that. I hesitated on this bookshelf for literally two full years because of the price, and because some reviews were less than amazing. I finally splurged when it dropped to around $1500 for a labor day sale, and let me tell you upon seeing it in person, in my living room? the sale price is moot. This has exceeded my expectations in every possible way: it is a vibrant and perfect flamey red, it's taller than me (and would be better read if I filled it with books), and every aspect is beautifully constructed and I feel confident it will last ages. The openwork of the back and sides allows for great decorating potential (stringing xmas lights and tinsel!) and even if it stayed empty it'd be a beautiful addition to my living room. It's an all-in-one piece (no assembly) and was packed up very safely, covered thoroughly in bubblewrap and shipped in a custom-sized heavyweight cardboard box. I chose the "room of choice" delivery because I'm on the top level of a three-floor walkup and the delivery guys were fantastic: everything was super smooth and just darn perfect.
