This ironing board cabinet is a smart space-saving solution. The cabinet is installed 3.5” into the wall, leaving a little more than 4 inches of cabinet sticking out from the wall. The cabinet can be installed with the cabinet door opening on the left or right, so you can install it on the side that makes the most sense for your space. Cabinet must be installed in-wall between 16-inch on center studs. Ironing board opens 11 inches above bottom of cabinet, so keep that in mind when selecting height for cabinet installation. Cabinet door extends 28.5” from wall with door open and 44.5” from wall with ironing board extended straight forward. Interior of the cabinet measures 13.25” W x 5.375” D. Shelves are shallower than full cabinet depth.

The instructions were easy to follow, I outlined all measurements, prepped the cabinet and the next day we finished the install. It was a nice tight fit, all pieces were used, which is always a good thing. Somehow I always end up with extra screws. The only hang up was that when I looked down the inside of the wall I noticed we had electrical running right through where my outline was. So we adjusted the cabinet and moved it a little higher to not interrupt the electric. Its higher that the instructions but it still works. Just beware of possible wires once you open the wall up. This was the third board I bought to replace a very, very old board from the 40's. First was the same kind but wider. Didn't work on pants.
