The Compost Wizard Jr. offers all the features of our Good Ideas Compost Wizard in a smaller package. At 7 cubic feet of volume, it can sit discretely out of the way while still offering a decent amount of compost. It comes in two pieces - simply place the drum on the base and start composting. Molded handholds allow for a solid grip while also serving as agitators for the compost in the interior. The unit effortlessly rotates due to its wheeled base, and you can also take the compost bin off the stand and roll the container around the yard wherever you need it. The 12” twist-off lid keeps your compost safely closed and away from rodents and other animals, and each end of the compost bin has plenty of aeration vents. Made with recycled, BPA-Free plastic, there will be no chemicals, toxic or otherwise, leeching into your compost. The black color efficiently absorbs the sun's heat, helping keep your compost in the perfect temperature range of 100-150 degrees F (38-66 C). In ideal conditions, you could see compost in as little as 21 days.

Heavy AF - but in a good way. We were looking for a compost wizard that was self-turning. We were gifted a very nice standing one, but the weight of the compost started breaking it at the seams/openings. Also, you had to turn it with a pitchfork. So, we plunked down for this one. Slightly smaller volume, but so, so worth it. It does not turn easily as it gets full, but, this has a hidden up side. The screw lid is solid, so no animals can get in, but our elderly neighbors (who occasionally can't recognize their house and try to enter ours instead) did. They ruined an entire batch of compost by putting in their meat scraps and other fat waste. So FRUSTRATING! But! Fill this puppy up, and rotate it so the lid is down and nobody but you is going to take the time to roll this monster over and add things to it. So, is it heavy and somewhat of an effort to turn? For an out of shape 40 something - yes. But not so much so that I don't do it every week, and the peace of mind knowing I know exactly what's in my compost is a good feeling.. Annie.
