The Sobro Smart side table is almost perfect. However, it worth the price? I hope this review is helpful to anyone thinking about purchasing it. I am a bit of a tech person, so when I saw the table on Indiegogo, I knew I had to have it. However, I waited so long I forgot about it. Thus, I had to order it from Wayfair at a price which I am not sure it commands. Overall, $960 for a table I feel is worth about $550-600 tops. Especially if you take top quality products in which the table combines and price them individually. The price tag definitely falls short. I purchased the table in all black, as I am using it in my bedroom. The black looks good and fits in with my furniture. Setting up the table you get two sets of legs. a set of 3inch and a set of 6-inch legs I think. I chose the taller set of legs. To me, they still do not make the table tall enough at my bedside. Another 2 inches and it would be perfect. This would not be the table for someone with a high sitting bed. Next, I had to set up the wifi for the Bluetooth speaker and app control. Like other reviews, this was proving to be a pain as I was following the directions and it just did not want to connect. Finally, I gave up and walked over to my Internet router and pressed the little connect button at the top. then I went through the steps again and the app almost did everything for me. Bluetooth speaker Once the wifi was connected I pressed the button on the back of the table for sound and connected my phone. Played some tunes and wow! the speakers sound great. However, it does slightly depend on the music or sound output/ app of choice. The base you get is really good for this product. Front Lower Light. On the front bottom of the table is a light strip that the app gives you control over. The front light is not like the backlight in which you have color options and effects. The front light can be either cool or warm white, with the option to dim the brightness. The front light through the app has a motion sensor setting that can be used in the form of a night light. Sometimes we get up in the middle of the night for water or something. I thought this was a nice feature to have. However, the motion sensor is very sensitive. I can make it go off just moving my head in bed. not cool when you are trying to sleep and every movement makes this thing light up your room. The Storage drawers on both sides, in my opinion, are a bit on the smaller side. So don't expect to put a laptop or anything like that in your nightstand. It does do well for small personal items. Keep in mind the table was supposed to have a locking feature, but it does not. The Refrigerator drawer This was one of the features that sold me. I sometimes need to get up for water in the night, or just not wanting to always share my mike hard lemonades with my housemate. I can have water and mikes in there. Now it does fall short of having a mini-fridge in a few ways. The coolness of the drawer depends on the coolness of your room. in which it would not matter with a real mini-fridge. Drinks can get a lot colder if they are in cans vs plastic bottles. It can hold about 8cans or bottles. 4 cans 2 burritos or 6 cans and a 7/11 sandwich in a container. Wireless Charging This feature needs work. I like having this functionality and when it is working it does a great job without overheating your devices. you have to do a lot of repositioning to get it to work. when it is working a white light comes on to let you know it is connected. when Items are fully charged the light goes off and the charging seems to stop. This is good for device battery life. Overall, I really like the table. Not happy with the steep price tag, but I am getting all the things I wanted in one condensed package. The table is beautiful, I love the end table but HATE that Wayfair LIED to me about where it was manufactured. IT WAS MADE IN CHINA, not India (and I just checked the website and they have not updated it). It says it was made in China on the box and on a sticker that was on the table itself. Why would a company who is SUPPOSED to have INTEGRITY LIE TO IT'S CUSTOMERS????? Also, it is a LOT more pressed sawdust than I believed, based on the description and reviews. I wish I could say I loved this table more. To be honest, it is a wonderful idea, but the price of this table is a bit high for the quality. One of the biggest frustrations is the "touch controls". They are not easy to use and require frequent presses of each one and often they do not register. It is not very user friendly, you cannot go back and forth between colors, you must scroll through all the colors and come back to the one you like. There is no on or off button for the screen or the table, it is the same button as "lock" so you use this button for multiple features and it does not register which you are doing. The quality of the drawers is also not worth the price tag, they are similar to Ikea quality. They are supposed to have the soft close feature, but that requires a significant tug on them to get them open and you have to practically close it all the way for the soft close feature to even work. The fridge does the normal things a small fridge does, shake every once and a while when it kicks on, has a low hum, so it is something that you can hear when its quiet, which is to be expected. The more you fill up the drawer, the less cold the drinks will be, which again is to be expected, but you cannot lower the temp below 35 degrees I believe. Also, one small annoying feature about unpacking the table is that they cover it in a clear wrap which is tucked under and into the table which is a real hassle to take off. I am still finding little pieces sticking out. Overall it does what it says, but the quality of the features just doesn't match the price.. Chelsea. WA. 2019-01-19 17:46:55
