[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have both the ring door bell for our front door and now this spotlight cam for our backyard. We love being able to check in when we’re at work or away from home. Our backyard is open and we’ve had problems with people coming into our yard. Thankfully we had a place to put our camera already as our houses previous owner had a different camera up. Instillation and set up was a breeze. We love that is has a light that pops on when it detects motion and that we can talk through it and set off an alarm. It adds a level of safety that we really appreciate. The camera sees a very wide area so our entire yard can be seen (though at night we can’t see the back half since we have an acre, which is fine with us). The quality is okay but do wish is was a little better. Any movement makes the object a bit blurry and sometimes can be hard to tell what it is. Does okay with people. I put these under my kitchen cabinets and behind my toilets so we don’t have to get blinded by the overhead light in the middle of the night. I would’ve given these five stars, but the bottom of my cabinets would not hold the two-sided tape in place. They fell down fairly quickly, so I ended up having to screw the metal strips into the bottom of my cabinets. It wasn’t difficult, but was obnoxious that something simple turned into an hour long task involving power tools. I am very pleased with the results, so I still recommend the product. There was one thing that I figured out before it was too late. There’s a sticker on the light bar that when removed will reduce the motion sensor to only working in the dark. Obviously this is great for behind the toilets or closets, but would not work for under cabinets if you want to be able to light your work area while cooking. So I would advise you to leave the stickers on for cabinets or things you need to activate the sensor when it isn’t dark, but remove the sticker if you have spaces that only need to be lit in the dark. Thankfully I figured this out before I took the stickers off the ones for the cabinets. I was able to put the ones I took the stickers off of behind the toilets so everything is fine. This is a good product To provide light but has to be in an area w light but cannot be in direct sunlight. I placed it on the far end wall of my back yard so when the dogs go out to do their business in the dark they will have light.Really easy to set up, just Unpack and let it sit in light for about an hour and then it works. Instructions that came with it were not real clear. Before Screwing them on i suggest using the strong tape so you can adjust accordingly bec if too far it keeps turning off.
