It is so matte it is almost rough. I did not realize that it said unglazed in the details, but it was not what we were looking for. Too bad bc I loved that it came in big pieces. Of course it now being delivered to a home I no longer live at then the delivery people break two boxes on delivery and now I'm ONE tile short and all the tile is down. We chose this tile for a basement hallway project. It was significantly less expensive than several other styles we were considering, and was also a small (2x2) mosaic style which was necessary to conform to the cracks and bumps of our 100 year old basement floor. I will note that the color is far more an "olive brown" than anything resembling green. Also, the tiles must have been stored in a hot warehouse, or perhaps a hot delivery van because the sheets were firmly stuck together and were a pain in the neck to separate without damaging the tile. The tile does look very nice, with a fair amount of variation and seems to be of good quality. It will look best with a medium to fairly dark warm grout. Overall, we are happy with this product.. I was SO happy to find this product on Wayfair! I needed about 50 of these because of broken tiles in my home; this stone is in several rooms. I literally could not find the size I needed anywhere on the Internet; I looked for hours.
