The screen does the job it was ordered for - hide the trashcan. Would certainly work for blocking a street view for an air conditioner. I ordered the white vinyl since it would be easier to hose off any mud splatter that the natural wood. Easy to put together, took only 20 minutes. When the box arrived we weren't sure about assembly since every slat is a separate piece - see pictures. A rubber mallet was used to get the stakes into the ground. Once in it is very secure.. For those of you who are really handy..this is a doddle. But when I opened the packet the phrase ' YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME' came to mind!!. The number of pieces for two fences was daunting to say the least. Especially as I don't have a 'cordless electric drill' as suggested on the instructions and this come sixth about 30 screws. AND as I had missed the bit that said 'self assembly'!! Once I'd stopped panicking and sorted all the pieces into the different sections, it was actually very easy to assemble. NOTE: make sure you pick the correct bottom, middle and top horizontal sections as only ONE has open slats on both sides for the slats to run through. Secondly, when fitting the individual vertical slats into the top horizontal stake, lay the whole thing down on the floor - flat and gently pull the slats from one side to the other to attach the top slate. DON'T try doing it with the fence standing up as you will be there until next year. 3rd point, there are NO top screw holes to attach the joining part to keep TWO fences together. You will need to drill that yourself. And lastly, ...forget about the bit in the instructions that suggests you 'shine an LED torch or iPhone torch down the vertical fence posts to match up the screw holes.. just lay the fence flat on the ground and tap the horizontal slat with the handle of your screwdriver until you see the adjoining screw hole you need. Amazing! This fence is so beautiful in real life! Although not needed, I decided to protect mine by sealing/staining it with a transparent stainer (see pics) after speaking with the Enclo's customer service. The customer service was VERY helpful and guided me for staining advice. This fence is not only beautiful, but also very sturdy and solid. It really was just what I needed and at a great price. Love it. All the other reviews are correct, this cedar is raw as it can be so use gloves at all times. Easy as ever to assemble. I used a tinted sealer from Woodmans ( natural cedar tint, sold at Ace hardware). I didn’t sand it as I just used a tinted sealer. Soaked it with just a paint brush, worked beautifully. If you wanted to stain then seal, then there’s a lot of sanding in your future. Original Color out of the box is exactly as pictured in the ad. had to buy this to keep my dog from peeing on my new AC unit that was just installed. Good storage, watertight even in the face of a rainy nor'easter. Used Lowe's cement blocks 15.7" with the number 2 step sand used for paver installation. Made for a solid foundation. One issue is because the unit opens from the top and front which is great, there is not enough support to keep the side walls square at the front so you need to push them together about an inch when closing. This is a very cute privacy screen. Just a few minor things that keep me from giving a 5 star review. Delivery and packaging Quick shipping, excellent packaging. And the cedar planks smell amazing!!! Assembly Overall, not too difficult. Two people were able to assemble and install in around 60 minutes. The instructions weren’t excellent, specifically the part about joining the two pieces together. There are no pre drilled holes and the joiner piece is mostly worthless if you put them at a right angle (we didn’t even use it!). Also we had two minor issues with the planks one plank didn’t have a very deep groove to slide down the post and we only had one “finished” plank (a plank that has one side as completely smooth). So watch for that and make sure you save it to be in the right spot! Overall lookfinished product I love the look of this privacy screen. We had to contend with uneven terrain, so one screen is higher than the other (that’s fine with me). I wish this screen were maybe 3-4 inches taller (so one more plank). It barely covershides the trash bins, which is the whole reason we got this screen. Final recommendation I recommend this screen. It is easy to install and the look is very polished.. Katherine.
