If you are considering this bookcase, don't hesitate! It is a very sturdy and solid piece and comes well-packaged and fully assembled! It actually arrived in a box within a box, with protective, thick cardboard corner protectors and wooden "frame" pieces at the top and bottom of the box to keep it from getting dented, etc. The shelves are secured underneath with screws (in the little brackets) so they won't bang around, and the wood is joined together with screws and pocket holes. It's also nicely sanded and ready for paint or stain! Was planning to use it in my kitchen for extra pantry storage, but now I want it in my bedroom! Here it is, freshly stained!. Leah. Overall it’s good with couple of design flaws 1. The grooves for the pocket holes are very obvious and covered by the shelves so you can’t move the shelves up or down. Consider the shelves fixed in position. 2. It’s made from solid strips of wood glued togther, not really wood panels, so if you plan on staining it, keep that in mind.
