shiny and plastic. tried installing today but still haven't succeeded to eliminate a drip at supply. will purchase and try better quality flat rubber washer. new flat rubber washer solved drip. the provided holder will not support hand shower, droops to point of contact, won't stay in position. spray patterns are just fair. hope the "clean mode" is beneficial.. We just purchased this and have not put it in the shower yet. I like that the handheld fits inside the showerhead. We were happy the this set came with the one/off control handle or both stationary and hand held and hoses. Every other place we found this we would of had to purchase all pieces separately.. KPG8TR.
