The crib itself arrived in an excellent condition (not even one scratch), the crib is fantastic and looks exactly like the photo, I would even give it a 5 star, the only reason I gave it 3 stars is because the crib has only 2 levels and the gate is very low, so when I put my child in there it was very easy for him to jump out from the crib, I called the manufacturer they said sorry this crib is made only for kids shorter than 35" (my child isn't 35" yet), However, I had to make 4 new holes in my "new crib" to make a new lower level. We ordered this bed for our grandchildren ages 2 and 4. They loved it. Assembly was fairly easy, instructions were fair. The bed did have a strong paint odor for the first few days. We did have a couple of problems. The ladder rungs were unevenly spaced and one of the braces for the slide was too short. I believe it was actually a ladder step that was mislabeled. The side rail seems flimsy. I think we will remove it because if a kid falls into it, I believe it will break the wood. It is difficult to place sheets on the bed. If the ladder was removable it would be easier to place the sheets. Twin mattresses fit well. Other than the above mentioned, I believe the bed is sturdy. I haven’t talked to customer service yet. A great alternative to the expensive 'hardware store' crib. My only complaint is that the mattress platform is deep black, even on the white crib. This can be covered with a crib skirt, of course, but the four metal diagonal posts that attach the mattress platform to the crib are *also* black, and even with a crib skirt and sheets on the mattress, these black posts are exposed and stick out like a sore thumb against the white.
