I have been on the hunt for the perfect swivel barrel chair to put in my family room as a swap out for one that I needed to move to another spot in the house. After a not so successful purchase of another chair (back of the chair was too short at 11.25" for me a 5'6" female where I felt like I'd tip back over), I came upon this one in my search and thought this might be the one with a reported 20" seat back height. The main things I was looking for: microfiber/suede material, seat back that was at least 15 inches tall; chair arms that allowed me to rest my arms comfortably and where I could lay my remote on top of the arm (yes, I know - picky). I have had a Dutelier glider rocker that I loved because of the calming glider motion, so when I found this one, I was so excited. I had just painted my interior walls Repose Gray (Sherwin Williams) so the Dapple Gray was a perfect and beautiful match. The chair is comfortable and well made, swivels and glides smoothly and allows me to watch TV or turn back towards my sectional as well. The glider motion is also a nice feature and I find any excuse to sit on it so I can rock back and forth. It's wide enough that I can sit cross legged too. It's a good value for what you are getting and I plan to buy another one to put in my bedroom. Delivery was great and the guys brought it into the house (safely masked and all) and set it up for me. I was doing my fair bit of shopping and wanted a more contemporary looking glider for our room. This one looked nice and it was on sale so I bit the bullet. I was surprised to find the glider on my front porch two days after I placed the order. It shipped pretty compact and arrived in one box. SETUP: You do have to assemble it but putting it together was a breeze. There were only two pieces and after I lined up the backrest with the base seat, sliding it in was not difficult. You have to make sure you hear the clicks once the hardware was in place. When I did it, only one had clicked and I just had to push the other side a little harder to get it click. There is a fabric cover that you need to stretch tight to attach to the velcro under the chair frame. THOUGHTS: The chair looked awesome and fit the decor of our room. The glider was really comfortable and the rocking and turning action were very smooth and quiet. Wifey also gave me props for picking a good color. The fabric looked nice and looked like the more expensive ones you would find at West Elm or Pottery Barn. Needless to say, I know where I'm sitting for movie night!. It's smaller than expected and more firm than I'd like but well made! Perfect size for me, 5'4", but my husband who is 6'4" is comical in it! It seems well made so far. It rocks and swivels very smoothly. Reclines well though the foot rest is very hard to put back down. The material feels very durable, not plush or soft by any means, and I think it will be easy to clean. Overall content with the purchase, not thrilled. I wish it was bigger for the price.. Anonymous. We love this glider, the ottoman stores extra blankets, a few pacifiers and burp cloths for easy access. I am 5'2" and my husband is 6'4" and we both sit comfortably in this chair. These chairs arrived two days after I ordered them. I bought two of them for a nook we have off the kitchen so you could sit in them, look out at the view, and also swivel to talk to someone in the kitchen. I worried they'd be stiff and hard, but they're soft and comfortable and the swivel-rocker works great. I took one star off because now and then the swivel squeaks. I looked a long time for chairs like these, almost bought similar ones from a site where they were nearly twice as expensive, and I'm glad I didn't. I'm short, 5'3", and so I put a small cushion behind my back. My husband's 6' and is fine without a cushion.
