It is good for small spaces and to keep dogs out of the trash. It is not so good for those who like the option to open by hand or don’t want fiddle with making sure the inside cans go in perfectly. It is beautiful and slim lined so it fits perfectly at the end of the counter and can be pushed all the way back because the lid is small and will open against the wall without touching the wall. The trade off is that the only way to open it is with the foot pedal (if that breaks, you can’t open it with your hand—. Good to keep dogs out of the trash though) and the cans must go in perfectly (there’s no room for error) or the lid doesn’t close. Lovely duel chamber trash can. The lids are quiet & quick to open with the foot pedal, & they lower slowly & silently. The soft finish on the bronze exterior looks great while also being "fingerprint-free." One thing to note is that the custom fit Songmic trash bags don't fit this model as well as generic non-branded trash bags. If you want the lift handle for the removable trash can to be outside the trash bag/acessible, then using the Songmics trash bag means the lid to the trash will be left ajar. If you choose to cover the lift handle with the Songmics trash bag, then the trash can lid is left just slightly raised. Really like this trash and recycling can! It fits our space well. The noise when opening and closing is a little louder than expected but it’s not a big issue. It takes 3x D batteries so we hope it’ll last! The labels are magnetic so you can switch sides any time you want. Note that there isn’t another “liner” plastic can inside (like the SimpleHuman brand) but it has 2 plastic rings that would keep the bags in place. Not as tall was what we are used too but it works great. If you have shorter children it would be great for them. Recycle blue bin comes out. Other side is stationary. This is the perfect size for a small family or single. I love having a covered recycling bin next to the trash. Makes things much simpler and neater. Great size. The lid does smack the counter loudly if I step on the pedal with full force, due to my counter’s height. So I just step a little more lightly. Easy to keep clean. Labels on foot pedals denote which is the recycle bin. Can be a little challenging to get the trash bag in nicely and seat the bin inside the unit.
