Soo.. I just want to start by saying that this dog mat has been a lifesaver! Though it originally came dirty even inside of the plastic and the removable cover had to be washed, Wayfair’s customer service was good about handling the inconvenience. The mattress did start off very flat, but that’s as to be expected with memory foam. It did finally reach its full expansion potential by the next day, as you can see in the pictures that I provided you can see it got higher towards the headboard on the Hazeltine dog bed that I also ordered from Wayfair (this mattress fits PERFECTLY! I have no idea why others found it so hard to find a mattress with these exact dimensions.) My dog used to sleep on my 4yr old’s bed with her every night on the bottom bunk, (memory foam) so I thought why not get my dog a miniature version of her own and put it in the kids room so that the transition won’t be so hard on either of them, and when I say it worked like a charm, I mean just that! My yorkie gets cold and the Sherpa does the trick! The dog bed holds her weight (my 34lb 4yr old lol though I only let her get on it once.) but is also soft enough for my dog to melt into, in a good way. She sleeps like a baby... Danielle. My dog loves his new bed. I like the fact that he has plenty of room to sleep or just be in any position he likes . To me its very important to give your dog plenty of space to sleep and be comfy. His last bed was so small he literally hung over it . The color is nice. The bed holds up to his weight it doesnt smoosh down to the floor when he goes to lay down. I have had and I mean many dog beds. They seem to go right down to the ground as if your dog has no support when laying on it. But this dog bed seems to have Very good support for him . I bought three of these large size mats. I have two Boxers and a very big Lab mix. The mats fit really well in the huge crates I'm using. The large size mat is perfect for the large size cot as well. It appears they will wash well and fit easily in my washer. This will be less work for me and be cleaner for them. I had hoped that this mat would be a solution to the obsession with removing the stuffing from everything(!) one of these brats is always taking out of her stuff. This bad girl doesn't know the value of a dollar or thirty. Maybe she just hates doggie beds and pillows. She could be trying to fluff it more. I'm not sure why, but she has already torn her mat and started pulling the stuffing out. I'm not surprised. This is her M.O. There isn't a doggie bed, pillow or blanket that she hasn't opened and pulled the stuffing out of. Fortunately for both of us she limits her damages to dog bedding and not people bedding.
