Add a touch of the tropics to your favorite rooms with the lush beauty of a White Bird of Paradise (botanically known as Strelitzia nicolai). Its big, lush leaves make any room feel more inviting and comfortable. Keep your White Bird of Paradise happy by growing it in bright, indirect light. Water this beautiful houseplant about once a week with approximately 2-3 cups, ensuring excess water drains. Adjust as needed for your environment. Never let your White Bird of Paradise sit in water or saturated soil. If you’d like to boost growth in spring and summer, feed this large houseplant with a fertilizer labeled for potted plants following the products instructions. Should your White Bird of Paradise outgrow its current container, repot by gently removing it from its container and placing it one that’s 2 to 4 inches wider. Fill with potting mix and water thoroughly. Though we grow it as a houseplant, it is hardy outdoors in USDA Zones 9b-11.

      • Location: Perfect for bright entryways, living rooms, dens and bedrooms.
      • Specifications: Plant height at shipping is approximately 36-48 inches tall, measured from the bottom of the pot
      • Container: 9.25-inch diameter nursery pot.
      • Light: White Bird grows in bright, indirect light.
      • Water: White Bird generally drinks about 2 to 3 cups of water per week, depending on environment.

I’m shocked how beautiful this plant is. I was worried when the order was delayed several months, when finally shipped was delayed by shipper and arrived with the box crumpled on top. But the plant is perfect. No damage, no yellow leaves and the soil is still damp. It’s a perfect size for indoors. I’ll leave it here over winter then let it run wild in the backyard this spring.. This hardy houseplant is renowned for its robust nature, making it the perfect choice for beginners or those with busy lifestyles. With its long, arching leaves that are deep green and glossy, the Cast Iron Plant adds a lush, tropical feel to any environment while requiring minimal care. Its ability to thrive in low light conditions and tolerate neglect makes it a reliable addition to your home or office. The Cast Iron Plant is exceptionally versatile, suitable for various settings, from living rooms and offices to shaded gardens and entryways. Typically growing to a height of 2 to 3 feet, it can be placed in pots or directly in the ground, making it a wonderful option for both indoor decor and outdoor landscaping. Its attractive foliage not only enhances the aesthetic of your space but also helps purify the air, contributing to a healthier living environment. Caring for your Cast Iron Plant is simple. It prefers well-draining soil and can tolerate infrequent watering—allow the soil to dry out between waterings. This resilient plant is also drought-tolerant and can adapt to a range of lighting conditions, from low light to bright, indirect sunlight. Additionally, the Cast Iron Plant is non-toxic to pets, making it a safe choice for homes with furry companions. With its stunning foliage, low-maintenance nature, and air-purifying qualities, the Cast Iron Plant is an excellent addition to any home or garden, bringing a touch of lasting beauty and resilience to your living space.

The Cast Iron Plant came completely green and healthy perfectly wrapped with moist soil. Keep in mind that the plant comes in just a nursery planter, not a finished pot. It is definitely a tall, mature size for the plant, which explains the cost and presumably time taken to grow the plant since it is a slow growing plant.. James. US. 2023-04-19 22:22:45
