I am a bit of a home sewist and as I prepared to make custom curtains for 17 windows I decided to upgrade my ironing game and roll-up the expense into my home improvement project. This board is STURDY, I'm a plus size gal and I could easily sit on it, so leaning and pressing are a breeze! I was surprised to find that the front end of this board (making the square) is an attachment to a more traditional triangular tip. In some ways this was a blessing, as I can remove the end, but once or twice when adjusting the position of the board it did come a bit loose and I had to give it a solid push. This was the third board I bought to replace a very, very old board from the 40's. First was the same kind but wider. Didn't work on pants. It may seem really goofy to be over the moon about an ironing board but I AM!! I love love this thing.
