Hand-Crafted Waterfall Capiz Wind Chime. A swirl of sky blue, this beautiful capiz chime has a sweet, soft tone. Made with pride by Balinese artisans, this wind chime is made with capiz farmed in Indonesia, and every bit is used. The pieces are carefully sorted, dried, sliced, shaped, sanded and dyed. Strung together with a strong, invisible nylon cord, the thin, flat translucent pieces provide luminous color when light shines through them in chorus with its gentle tinkling musical sound. Tuned to beautiful melodies and scales from around the world and available in a wide range of styles, songs, and sizes, you can choose the Woodstock Chime that speaks to your soul. HOW IT ALL BEGAN. In 1979, the first Woodstock Chime was created by Grammy award-winning musician Garry Kvistad from an aluminum lawn chair he found in a landfill. As a professional musician and instrument designer, he was fascinated by the Scales of Olympus, a 7th-century pentatonic scale that can't be played on a modern piano. Garry had the idea to cut and tune the lawn chair chime tubes to the exact frequency of the ancient scale. The resulting Chimes of Olympus was the first Woodstock Chimes Wind Chimes and is still one of our bestselling wind chimes. Garry and his wife Diane founded Woodstock Chimes in 1979 and it remains based in New York's Hudson Valley.

I knew absolutely what I wanted in a Wind Chime. My mother and grandmother had these when I was little, much larger, and I knew that I had to make that memory for my daughter. She seems to think it is her Wind Chime so my mission is complete. It came 2 days late and had a very small chip which must have happening shipping. I super glued it into place and can’t even find the spot so I still give it 5 stars.. Leticia. Stone Mountain, GA. 2021-07-27 18:30:59

Bells have been used throughout the ages to accompany dance, to provide comfort, and to warn of possible danger. The Chinese were the first to control the pitch or note of a bell, making it possible for them to play tunes. Soon bells were being used to accompany worship. On New Year's Eve, the bells in Buddhist temples are rung 108 times, once for each of the 108 worldly desires. In the East bells have become very important and are often decorated with significant symbols. For centuries, tuned bells have been suspended in homes and temples to ward off evil and attract good luck and prosperity. These ancient bells inspire Woodstock Temple Bells and work harmoniously with the wind to create gentle, soothing tones. In 1979, Grammy(R) Award-winning musician and instrument designer Garry Kvistad created the first Woodstock Chime from an aluminum lawn chair he found in a landfill. Fascinated by the Scale of Olympos, a 7th-century pentatonic scale that can’t be played on a modern piano, Garry cut and tuned the lawn chair tubes to the exact frequency of the ancient scale. The Chimes of Olympos was the first of Woodstock Chimes Wind Chimes and is still one of our best-selling, musically-tuned windchimes. Garry and his wife Diane founded Woodstock Chimes in 1979 and remain based in New York’s Hudson Valley.
