Discover the benefits of a built-in drainboard with a Birch Lane™ fireclay model. A classic farmhouse apron sink design, the drainboard has many benefits: space-saving, eco-friendly, and convenient. The drainboard contains the water and channels it back to the drain. When you want to quickly hand-wash items, no more searching for a spot on the counter or pulling out an unsightly rack for drying. Features a decorative lip on both sides and all sides are glazed so the sink is reversible. Its glazed surface inhibits bacterial growth more than stainless steel. Due to the firing process, dimensions are nominal and may vary to actual up to 0.25". A note about fireclay sinks: due to the curing process, small surface cracks typically appear on the underside of the sink. These cosmetic flaws are from the molding process and do not affect the performance or visible luster of the sink. Shown: compatible grid BG-FCFS36-DB sold separately.

I absolutely, absolutely love this sink! I bought this sink months ago but only now has it been installed in my DIY kitchen installation (work in progress). I want a vintage feel to my kitchen and trying to locate an original, restored or even a new, replicated drainboard sink in my budget proved very difficult. Then I discovered this beautiful apron sink with a drainboard (albeit a bit smaller than vintage ones). Caught a sale, under $700 at the time. Shipping was great. Sink arrived in perfect condition. My experienced brother-in-law helped me with installing the sink. We had to carefully measure and cut the front opening in the sink cabinet. We built a rectangle support frame with 2" X 4" lumber to support the sink inside the cabinet with heavy duty screws, leaving room for the faucets through the countertop. The sink's installation instructions provided for this. We did double the 2 X 4 in the back part of the frame. Be careful to leave the sink, I believe, 1/8th inch lower than the cabinet and perfectly level for the countertop installers if DIY. Attached a picture of the frame. Absolutely no issues with the sink's function. Went with a 1/2 inch "positive reveal" for the marble cut around the sink edge. A beautiful, beautiful sink! Love my sink!.
