I have other Simplehuman products so when I saw the storage container I was excited to receive my order. Upon opening however, I did see a small dent on one side so I examined the shipping packaging and found no evidence of damage so it's unclear to me how the product became dented but because I needed a food-grade storage container, I decided to keep it. Given the current circumstances we're living in at the time of this writing, most of us are ordering stable shelf food in bulk when able, but that posed its own challenges finding a product that would allow me to store bulk food items safely. Then I found this product. I saw another review where someone complained about the amount of food that could be stored in this product. Please keep in mind, the amount of food that can be stored in this container is dependent upon the size of the food being stored. For example, I'm using mine for rice storage and I emptied a 15-lb bag into this container and it didn't even fill it up half the way. Obviously larger dog food, for example, is going to take up more space in this container. I have attached a few photos but am unable to speak to the effectiveness of being airtight until some time has passed but it does have appear to have a good seal I feel confident in saying is probably going to be safe for my needs. The simplehuman brand is a good line of products and if I run into any issues at all feel confident in reaching out to them for assistance with any product questions or issues should they arise. If you're looking for a sturdy, (confidently until proven) airtight food storage solution, I think you should give this product a try.
