I purchased this for my mobility challenged ( tripaw ) cats. The spacing will allow them to safely climb without me worrying about falls as much. Yes it's expensive BUT .. the quality of the wood is exceptional. I am a little concerned the carpeting is very thin and it may become an issue with shredding- hopefully not! I’m so pleased with this purchase! The cat tree kit arrived with all listed parts, in excellent condition. The instructions were very clear and it was easy (and fun) to assemble. My two 13 week old kittens took to it very quickly and seem to enjoy playing and sleeping on it. (Both kittens climbed their way to the top perch by day 2.)
