It looks nice and bright in our spare bedroom. It is a balanced weight - good for summer as a single cover, good for winter as an additional cover. My design expectation was that the cover was a true patchwork quilt. However it was basically a preprinted to look like a quilt. That was disappointing. Hawthorne quilt just arrived today. I also ordered another Eddie Bauer quilt set, the Bridghaven, but didn't like the colors so I am sending it back and getting another one like this. They are for 9 and 10 year old boys. I thought I would attach photos so you can see the colors close up. I like the quilt. It is light weight, not heavy. Good for summer. Of course, for the price, it's a printed quilt design, not individually sewn squares, but I knew that already. The colors are somewhat muted, kind of a stone wash look. Love that kind of ticking look it has on the reverse side. I did notice on the section with the burgundy stripes, the ink is kind of bleeding in spots. Everywhere that particular burgundy striped patch is on the quilt, it looks like that. But with the overall blend of colors, you don't really notice it all that much. I am giving it four stars for now as I think it's a tad pricey for what it really is, but it's much better than the "quilts" that Walmart had. Will update this review after wash and wear and see how stiching holds up. I measured the "patches" and they are various sizes andwhere from 15-1/2" x 8", 10" x 8" and 8"x 8".. Patrick. Love the set. Its soft, and the navy blue is the exact color I was looking for. When i laid it out the only flaw i saw was double stiching in one area. I just cut the extra string that was hanging and you can hardly notice. Its not a big enough deal to complain. The other thing to watch for is it collects pet hair. I have a blue heeler, black and white, and I wanted to find something that the hair could easily wipe or shake off. This fabric is good. The hair does not intertwined and get stuck. A few shakes and the hair falls off. The comforter also is very large for our king bed. It hangs over the sides which provides plenty of comforter for me and my husband.
