In the grand scheme of things, these lockers are amazing. I am 6 feet tall with back problems, and have always had trouble putting on my shoes using a normal chair/bench. These seats are one or two inches higher off the ground than normal, which makes it MUCH easier for me to use. We have two units side-by-side in our laundry room, which we use for us and the kids. The kids hang their backpacks, coats, and hats on the hooks, line up their shoes on the bottom, and can store any less-frequently used items either in the storage bin under the seat, or on top above the hooks. Assembly, however, is a bit of a pain, and the packaging was full of broken styrofoam. There were two particular parts of the directions that were not very clear; the first of those (step 3) I did wrong, but didn't discover until about 1/2 way done putting it together, so had to spend a large amount of time DISassembling the unit in order to fix it. Having had two days inbetween putting the units together, I found that several of the instructions are actually not in the best sequence in order to actually assemble it efficiently; I learned from my mistakes, and putting the 2nd unit together was a breeze.
I absolutely recommend these for any mudroom type location. They may be made out of plastic, but they are very sturdy and durable. I foresee these lasting a very, very long time in our laundry room, and they PERFECTLY suit our needs (see attached picture).
