Sun Palace II Swing Set was my first purchase through WayFair and the experience has been amazing. When I had questions regarding delivery/assembly/etc, I was able to reach a representative at anytime and they were extremely responsive to my inquiries. I am a person who does research on everything and WayFair had the most competitive price including delivery. We just got it installed today and I cannot wait to have my toddler son come back home to see it. I searched everywhere for a quality set that wasn't $2000 or more. So happy I went with this gorilla set. Very few sets are all 4x4 supports and has a 4x6 support beam for the swings. This thing is solid. I spent 2 days staining it for extra protection and 3 more days for installation by myself. It was a pretty easy job just took a while. Only a couple of pieces didn't fit how I would have liked. Mainly the windows and dormers were not fitting based on the instructions and I had to modify them myself. All pieces were there and the hardware is solid. I had about 100 extra screws and lag bolts left over!!! Trust me I didn't skip a place where a screw went and even put a few extras in spots. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lots of other reviewers have correctly addressed this play set's quality. It's real wood (light wood, but real) and the hardware isn't so cheap that I'm left concerned it's going to corrode after two seasons and fall down. My main beef with the thing was the packaging and setup instructions. My wife, father-in-law, and I got it done in about 10 hours total, but that could EASILY have been 6 or 7 hours if we didn't have to spend so much time sorting through hardware. The wood is labeled well enough. There are a lot of pieces, so at first you'll spend a little time searching for the right one, but as the pile thins, that becomes easier. But the hardware? I thought it was a joke! The hardware (of which there is a ton) comes in three boxes. There are easily several hundred pieces, including all the bolts, nuts, screws, washers, lock washers, t-nuts, and screws - and apart from a few things that were pre-bagged, it was all just LOOSE HARDWARE. Then, adding insult to injury, the labels for the hardware in the instructions don't match the printing on the hardware itself. You're forced to actually measure the bolts to make sure you're getting the right size. And it's not like there were 10 four-inch bolts and 20 eight-inch bolts. There's at least 8 sizes, many of which differ from each other by only a quarter or half of an inch. Toward the end of the build, we were left with two bolts of slightly different sizes, one of which was too small for its intended application, resulting in a hardware store run. End of the world? No, but so completely preventable. At that point in the process, there was no way of knowing if we'd not received the right number of bolts or if we'd used one incorrectly six hours before. Asking the buyer to sort through all the carriage and hex bolts on their own to inventory what they received against the packing list is burdensome and silly. With a few extra labels and plastic bags, Gorilla could make this a lot easier. But no, they just dump all the metal parts in a couple of boxes and say good luck. All in all a good set, but either count all 500 pieces before you begin or have a hardware store in mind to hit up when you find out you're missing one critical part.. wesleyheath. I was looking for a small playset for my kids. In evaluating my choices online, it became apparent you typically had to choose two of size, quality and cost. I'm satisfied with the Gorilla playset. You can get cheaper playsets this size, but they won't be this quality. The instructions were clear, and the boards were solid and labeled clearly (would have been nice if hardware bags had been labeled, but I took care of that myself). My yard is hilly and muddy and unlevel, and I had to work hard to get everything level and plumb, but I knew that would be a challenge going in. I built this myself without help in about 12 hours. If my yard was level, it would have been more like 8. I'm pleased with the purchase and would recommend to anyone who gets that quality/cost/size situation.. Dave45204. The product looks just as pictured after setup and my daughter loves it! I personally did not do any installation, that was 100 my husband, he was able to complete by himself in 2 full afternoons working from lunch until after dinner. He said the worst part was the instructions referenced letters or numbers that did not match what the label stickers of the individual pieces had. So if you can figure out that puzzle with the bazillion pieces it came in that the project wasn’t so bad! The playset is sturdy and smells lovely with the fresh wood. The structure does sway with aggressive swinging but you can reduce that by tightening the bolts after you break it in. My only critique to Gorilla is that the estimated time to install the play set should be increased :) it was about 12 hours for us and we rented an auger to drill the holes for the concrete. I was very happy with the quality of the set overall. It is Chinese cedar and many boards were cupped and bowed, so just be careful during installation to overcome that. The instruction manual was highly detailed and made installation a breeze. You will need table saw, oscillating saw and sander to make minor modifications to some deck boards and others. I really love this playset. It does exactly what I wanted it to do. My daughter loves climbing the ladder and look out from the balcony. The playset, with the app to help, was so easy to install. The most difficult thing for me was leveling the area. Otherwise was simple. I didn’t take a star away for this, but I figured I’d write a couple things that I noticed that either needed to be changed or could be done to make the install simpler. The playset used a lot of T-Nuts and if I knew ahead of time, I could’ve hammered them in from a hard surface. It made me think I was going to snap the wood sometimes when I put them on after the wood was up. There was a point on the instructions that said you should put the wall panels on 3 1116” below the board, but if you did that, it wouldn’t have attached at the top. Definitely should be higher. The block under the slide should not be that far back. Instead, the instructions should have you drill the holes for the slide first, put the block on, then attach the slide. Also, the block for the slide should be curved, to account for the hole locations of the slide. Finally, the cross boards for the roof should also have a miter on them so when you bring the two tops together, it connects at a nice 90 degree angle. Thereby limiting the water that comes in.
