Touchless Sensor Sanitizer Hand Dispenser: What do I think?? “Let me count the ways”... I love this ‘hands-free’ dispenser :) When I first saw it on Wayfair I was really surprised. Never expected something like this would be in their lineup of amazing products. It was so great for my needs, I ordered two and am very happy I did !!!
We have a small sink in the guest bath and even with just a soap dish or bottled hand soap it never looks tidy and once you wet your hands and go for the soap or go for the bottled soap it seems you can’t help making some sort of a mess / splash or whatever ... oh yucch! Adding soap to dispenser is very simple and convenient too. Plus, it’s value for not spreading germs .
In the photos you may notice a butterfly on the unit ... it was just a fun thought, however, I do intend to order a decal or stick-on tattoo and decorate the sides to match our decor. There’s quite a vast selection out there. We’re going to be moving soon so actually ordering them will have to wait.
As for this unit, I immediately decided I wanted one for the kitchen and small bath. I also hate having to clutter up any sink with a cake or bottle of hand soap so this will be a blessing. I plan on having a built in kitchen dish-soap dispenser so that’s not a problem. Obviously, I have a dislike for clutter, mostly because I don’t want to have to clean up over and over again if I can avoid it. “Less work for Grandma”.
The catch tray is optional and easy to connect so you can put it on or just use the dispenser as is, personally, I really like it! The unit would also be great in a garage or art studio, etc., if you have a sink there and need to wash up without touching anything it’s a great and very convenient option. No doubt, there are lots of other places for a gem like this. I anticipate getting one for my art studio too :)
Regarding assembly ... a no-brainer!! This is thoughtfully designed for ease of use. I had a little problem locating the compartment for the batteries so when I found it I put a little ‘P-touch’ label on it in case anyone else needed to change the batteries...the battery access door slides up to open it.
The unit does have an unimposing on-off button on the side ... keeps the ‘playful ones’ who just want to see the little light when they pass a hand under it and to avoid using up all the soap or wearing out the batteries (4 C batteries). I use rechargeable batteries in just about everything unless the manufacturer advises not to... didn’t see any indication of that, and they work fine so far.
The ‘key’ to opening the case is a small white horse shoe style piece that you push down into the two openings at the top of the unit...easy-peasy :) I labeled the key to since few would ever guess what its' purpose is.
The directions that come with it are smaller print and hard to read, at my age anyway, but mostly it's a common sense assembly and not difficult at all. There are several ways to secure it to whatever surface you decide upon so that’s covered too ... love a manufacturer who does their homework with the consumer in mind - except for the mini-directions.
I’m really looking forward to finding some attractive decals or stick-on tattoos to help make this not-so-commercial, although, it’s fine the way it is.
