Beautiful terracotta base. A substantial lamp that is full of earthy character. The shade didn't work for me though. Felt too big, and because I have the lamp sitting on a side table in our sunken living room, you could see too much of the inside and the bulb. I realized I needed an empire shade instead of a drum, so I had to spend the extra money to purchase a different shade. But I'm happy with the purchase overall. Note that you can see a "seam" (one on each side) where the potter put the two pieces together I assume. I like it and think it adds to the character, but others may not.. Andrea. I love this lamp. I bought two and they are used on our bedroom end tables. They are a little large but are wonderful and worth it. I like these lamps textured base. Both the base and shade are cream colored. You have to assemble the shade. It comes rolled up and adheres with Velcro around the base. I assume that’s so it doesn’t dent in shipping. I like the fact that it has a three way switch and can adjust brightness. I also like the clear cord so you don’t see it down the wall.
