These are perfect by our bedside! The adjustability and light intensity is perfect for reading in bed or just a little extra light at night. We have one on either side of the bed. I used command strips to attach them to my headboard as I didn’t want to drill holes through the wood of the headboard. The only drawback to attaching them that way is that about 2” of the cord is visible before it is hidden behind the front panel of the headboard. This is an issue specific to my furniture. It works, but you have to be intentional about how you mount it. All three joints move in a single direction, so don’t assume you will have the ability to change the direction later on. I have a similar mount-on-the-wall light which allow for more movement and I somewhat expected that to be a standard. Also, you should plan to use a shorter bulb if you don’t want it sticking out.
