There was one moment where it isn’t straightforward, as it doesn’t mention there is not a pre drilled hole for a screw for the middle portion of the frame. The bed frame has been pretty sturdy since we put it together, and had no issues putting our premium king sized mattress on it. The bed is nice, but I wish I had paid attention to the height of the headboard- you can even see it if you stand pillows up against it. I think it seems sturdy and seems to be sturdy. Assembly was a bit difficult because initially we ended up putting legs on the wrong side and the side rails upside down. This could be avoided with better labeling. Overall we are happy with the bed, but wish I could buy an extension to make the headboard taller. For reference this is the chestnut color option- I think the listing for this bed has the driftwood color pictured in both the driftwood and chestnut photos.
