The quality of the product is great. My husband mounted it on a post so it was at the same level as the fence the doves frequently perch on. It took a good 3 weeks before they would use it. We are still experimenting with the the right seeds. They didn't like the dove mix so we moved on to sunflower seed chips which they seem to like. Very attractive feeder. The only problem is that the lid does not stay on if a squirrel even so much as looks at it. We have lots of squirrels and chipmunks in our area and they come to the feeder and jostle it around. When that happens, the lid pulls up and the side pieces immediately fall apart and the suet and the sides fall on the ground. I had to fashion little ties to put on the side to keep the sides fastened when the squirrels/chipmunks fuss with the feeder. I used little metallic twist ties (think bread bag) and attached several of them together and then fed them through the sides and twisted them together. It has been working very well, but it is kind of pain and sort of messy because you can't avoid getting at least a little bit of the greasy, nasty suet on the ties. Overall, it's a very nice feeder, but I just wish it had a latch or clip on the top or sides that kept the pieces together, instead of just using the top piece as a wedge.. AC.
