This beam is constructed out of ¾” thick Aspen wood and is 6 1/2" tall. You choose the length and depth. Each piece of wood is unique and will have more or less character/knots than the other. It is designed to look like a solid beam without weight. The distressed beams are painted either black or white and have the edges sanded over and a brown stain/wax applied for a distressed look. The distressed beams will not be a solid color. Easy to install utilizing a French cleat mounting bracket which is included. Screws are not included. You will need to purchase 3" screws for the application you will be attaching the bracket to. Wood is considered a combustible material. Heat clearances must be adhered to. If installing over a fireplace, check your local building codes and the manufacturer's instructions for your specific fireplace insert or stove.

The mantel is hand and machined distressed to add that rustic feel. Constructed to the highest standards, there are no visible screw or nail holes and the design allows the mantel to float. With basic mechanical skills, the mantel is easy to install.

We chose this for the color as it was the best match to what we wanted to do with the stone we are placing. Plus it states it can take the heat which is a great bonus. Although hanging at the correct distances away from the heat it gives an added security it won't get overly hot. The mantle has striations/lines within and not a uniform color which I really like it (see photo of mantle side) and it adds to the overall look. Great quality, easy to hang and light weight while looking substantial. I have enclosed a photo of the stone we are using although we have not started that project yet. Wowwww this is a huge mantle! It is very heavy and very sturdy. We had to get super heavy duty brackets to mount it to the wall. Love the honey color, it’s very rustic and all 4 sides are unique so you can pick your favorite! My only complaint is that it’s been up for about 8 weeks and we just noticed a brand new split in the wood that extends almost the whole way across now. I’m not sure how I’ll fix it.
