This set is unique. It is oddly magnificent. Great finish and great name, Right! Yep, but there is much to discuss here. The weight is heavier with the spoons verses forks than with other sets. There is some extremely slight bend on fork ends if you try hard. The knives are weird but delightful to handle due to the hollow handle, but still substantial and balanced. . The look is fabulous for sure and quality is evident. There are much heavier sets out there no question but this flatware set is heavy enough, barely given the forks but solid enough. So what's this add up to. You'll have to decide. Just being honest here. I got the 23 piece set for kicks and every day use in my retro kitchen as the house was built in 1958 and I like an antique look. Oddly this set satisfies me but seems more versatile. It is just timeless due to the remarkable design and exceptional look. The set is sturdy enough to withstand everyday use and fabulous for special occasions as well. It is totally irresistible for sure. The big spoon is kind of big, think continental, but that is the trend. The knives are strangely awesome with good feel and balance, quite sharp as you would expect. China produces identical quality for flatware companies, as does Spain, Viet Nam, etc. The problem for China is only defect control in manufacturing. Here there is no issue with this set as it is amazingly perfect. I am happy with this extraordinary set because it is absolutely gorgeous despite it's quirks. It is comfortable in hand and is durable. It is unlike any other flatware set available in looks and significance per history. I will enjoy it for years to come. Hope this helps you to decide if it is right for you. :) Bill. William. Pennsylvania. 2016-02-04 20:18:54
