The package is a tall box. If it needs to be transported to upper level or lower level must have help to do so. I just opened the package and took each piece to upper level. The packaging was great. Instructions were clear. Lots of extra pieces of nuts were given. Can’t go wrong anywhere with assembly. Each piece was very well made. There’s hardly any assembly. It probably takes about 30 minutes to 40 minutes maximum. The wood pieces are solid wood. Has very smooth finish. The texture of the finished surface is soft and gives expensive feel. Once assembled one can tell its sturdy construction. We’ve been using it for a month now and no creaking or any noise. Perfect for apartment size bedroom or guest bedroom. Very happy with purchase. This is a beautiful, well built bed. The wood has a lot of character, with variegations in the wood color. My wife and I put it together in about 20 minutes - very simple but easier with two people. Here’s the thing. This bed is good. But it has some quality control issues. When I took it out of the box, the headboard was scratched. That was disappointing. But that’s not all of it. The slats we’re not counter properly. Therefore, the washer would not cover the bolts. So I know at some point it’s going to be a problem. Also, there was one part for the nightstand that was just completely missing a screw hole altogether. They just didn’t bore the hole at all. It was so odd. That being said this is solid wood.
