They fit in the side panels nice and flush with the overhanging supports on the back of the panels designed to stop the drawer from rolling under the bed. The nightstands feel nice and secure. I typically have a heavy book in the drawer, a full 40oz hydro flask, and my phone charging on one nightstand and it doesn’t seem to stress it at all. The assembly was straightforward and simple.
