Give your bedroom or guest room a rustic refresh with this clean-lined bed. Made of 100% solid pine wood, this bed features a sturdy frame construction that can last for years. The finish is designed to accentuate the unique grain, knots, and natural textures in the wood panels; and each piece is sanded and distressed by the hand, leading to variations in the color and texture that make every unit unique. This distressed finish is very durable and easy to touch up. Planks span across the headboard to highlight this design’s streamlined silhouette and enhance its modern feel. Give it your spin: pile on pillows and cozy bedding to create your dream color palette – this neutral piece will fit right in.

We like the look of our new bed, but aren't sure it was worth the hassle. I was looking for a grey wooden headboard and ordered this bed because I got an email saying it was no longer out of stock before I found anything else I liked. The confirmation email said it would be delivered in a few days. One week after placing the order, I got an email saying it would be another 2 months before it would be delivered (so basically it still wasn't back in stock). By the time it finally made its way to San Francisco (shipped from Brazil through Virginia, according to the packing slip), one of the boxes was smashed on one side, which caused the metal clips that connect the side rails to the headboard to be bent, and made for a major pain when putting the bed together and required several other tools to try and straighten the metal before digging into the wood with a razor blade to make it work. We also found that we had to reinforce the tiny wooden slats running from left to right underneath the mattress because that part is made of cheap wood. The color of the wood is slightly less grey than pictured in the website's photo and actually has a slight hint of blue to the grey. Ultimately, if you're looking for something similar, I'd suggest splurging on a better quality bed from a more trusted site.. MICHELLE. San Francisco, CA. 2016-05-08 16:56:45

We highly recommend this bed if you are looking for a rustic bed for a cabin or camp.  It comes unfinished and unassembled and at a fraction of the cost of an assembled rustic bed, and you can finish it to your liking as we did.  It shipped via parcel in three boxes, the heaviest about 50 lbs, so easy to handle.  The parts are high quality - well cut and pre-sanded - so there is no prep required.  The white cedar is beautiful enough that finishing is optional (we have another rustic bed that is 20+ years old and unfinished, and still looks great) but finishing will make a rustic bed into a true piece of furniture.  We were looking for a bed that was darker in color, so we stained the frame and left the spindles natural for a bit of contrast.  For the staining, we used Minwax English Chestnut.  The first coat we applied sparingly using a denim cloth to rub the stain into the wood, followed by a second, heavier coat of stain 24 hours later using a soft 100% cotton cloth followed by denim to remove any excess stain.  This gave us a nice deep, rich color while still ensuring the grain and features of the cedar are beautifully accented.  Prior to assembly we sealed everything with four coats of a good quality poly, using 00 steel wool before the second and third coats to give the bed a silky smooth feel.  Assembly was simple and took about 45 minutes in total, plus time for the glue to dry.  You do have to move fast once the glue is applied, so be sure to test assemble first and know exactly how you want the pieces arranged.  A rubber mallet is essential, the parts need a bit of encouragement!  When assembling the rails to the head and foot boards, ensure the parts are square before driving the bolts. We could not be more pleased with this bed.  Our contribution to the finishing and assembly makes it even more special.. KenRay. Denville, NJ. 2021-02-28 16:09:00
