I purchased a cal king reversible down alternative comforter for an insert to my duvet cover for a guest bed. I wanted it to be white and not too heavy. Seriously though, who likes a weak comforter? Does anyone enjoy getting a comforter vacuum smushed in a box that looks like a flat sheet and comes with instructions to shake it out and wait 4 days? And, after those 4 days are up, it's still so thin you wonder if you were sent a flat sheet. The thought of such a comforter makes us sick! Sure, it's harder to create, produce, and ship such impossibly huge comforters that are "thicker than thick"... But isn't that the whole point? With the number of hours, we sleep (or should sleep) each night, it should be a crime to have a flat sheet-like comforter. Love the quilt the look and the weight. Just what I needed to make my guest room not feminine for when my son is here. What I don’t like is, as other reviews stated after just one wash it pilled up on the decorated side. Wouldn’t be so bad if it was the other side. I’m hoping it will go away or I’ll have to get one of those fabric shavers. I did wash it by itself in cold and let it hang dry over my couch. Great bedding! Great quality for the cost. The comforter is cozy but lightweight which is what my husband prefers. Only downside is that we measured our bed, we for sure have a regular king which is what we ordered, but in order to cover the sides of our mattress, we had to turn the comforter sideways and use added pillows to hide the sheets up at the headboard. I am honestly really impressed with this bedding set. I ordered it hoping to give our bedroom a quick refresh without spending a fortune, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The comforter itself is incredibly soft and lightweight, but it still feels cozy enough at night. I tend to get hot when I sleep, so I was worried it might trap heat, but it breathes really well and has been comfortable even through warmer nights. The matching shams tie everything together nicely and make the bed look finished without needing a bunch of extra decorative pillows. Another thing I appreciated was how true the color was compared to the photos online. Sometimes bedding arrives looking completely different, but this looked exactly as expected. It also washed really well with no bunching or weird texture changes afterward, which is a huge plus for me because I do not want high maintenance bedding. Overall, this set made the whole room feel cleaner, brighter, and more put together.
