Just what we needed for our new 12’ x 12’ cantilever umbrella to be able to move it around. Very big and sturdy base that supports the umbrella well. The only issue my husband was worried about was the fact smaller rocks could easily fall out through the large hole screen it comes with in the bottom of the squares. We had ordered another base that did not hold the umbrella in place. During higher winds, the entire base/umbrella would move and fell over twice. This umbrella anchor arrived very quickly and was well packaged. My husband recessed it into the decking so it would sit flush with the deck boards. He needed to add some blocking under the deck and he used 5.5 inch structural screws to anchor it to the deck underpinning’s. It worked very well and feels rock solid. Previously we had a 30 inch square thick plastic anchor which was so bulky you couldn’t slide chairs out on that side of the table. I ordered a cantilever umbrella that had a metal X base which couldn't support the weight of the umbrella so I ordered this to hold it in place. It took about $15-20 worth of sand from the local hardware store to fill it up. For me the base is SO bulky though. Perhaps this isn't something that can be avoided due to the nature of the item and the weight it needs to compensate for but it takes up a lot of space so just make sure you plan for that. These umbrella base weights are extremely easy and intuitive to use. They fit our umbrella perfectly. The filling spots are easy to find and simple to fill. I love something that requires zero assembly. These four pieces came packaged very well with no damage. It was easy to unscrew and screw on the caps with no issues or problems how it fit. It does take a while to fill them up so either use a backyard hose or just be patient using the kitchen sink.
