Produced by noted American architect, illustrator, and designer Courtland Smith, this detailed pictoral map of Long Island, shows the region in a period of significant transition. The Great Depression of the 1930s kept Smith’s architecture career from flourishing and resulted in his partnership with Richard Foster to produce pectoral maps throughout New York. His work is noted for its signature clean style and elegance. Following the conclusion of the Great Depression, Smith would go on to design the iconic Houston Astrodome in the 1960s and other notable works internationally. This map was first published in 1933 but has become one of the most popular depictions of Long Island due to its distinctive aesthetic and unique blend of art, history, and local features.Pictorial maps are distinguished by the numerous references that showcase civic and geographic features to attract merchants and residents alike. Pictoral maps were also displayed locally as a show of civic pride. From Montauk in the East to the borough of Queens in the West, including Staten Island, and features several landmarks including the Montauk Light, Southampton, and Coney Island. The ornate flourishes and art deco design further differentiate this piece from other works of the era. This is an authentic piece of American cartographical history that immediately transports the viewer back in time, creating an indelible bond between the past and present. Long Island was settled by numerous waves of immigration throughout the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, becoming one of the most diverse regions in the United States. Our museum quality giclee print comes printed with archival ink on premium heavyweight matte paper. I did a ton of research on modular outdoor kitchens, before deciding to go with Mont Alpi. I Very happy with the 805 grill/beverage center. I ordered it in February and Wayfair said it wouldn’t be available to be delivered until early May. Surprisingly two weeks later I get a text from Wayfair saying it would be delivered the next day, which was great I didn’t have to wait until May. Delivery guys were great! I didn’t pay extra for backyard delivery but they offered to bring the boxes wherever I wanted. The set came in 3 large boxes with plywood bases. They weigh a ton, so definitely a multi person job to move them. Each part of the unit has casters that make moving everything really easy once they are out of the packaging. Speaking of that Mont Alpi does a really good job of packaging and protecting everything during shipping. No damage at all to anything in the set. You will have a TON of cardboard/foam/plastic wrap & plywood left over. It filled the entire bet of a full-size pickup truck. Everything is pretty much assembled in the box, so 95% of your setup is literally unpacking, just a few screws and metal plates hold it all together. My advice, if you want to keep it covered when not in use, is when you set it up, leave about a 2in gap between the grill and the right hand cabinet & beverage center that way you can just buy 2 standard size grill covers to fit over everything, otherwise you would have to have a custom 11ft cover made. Everything is very stable once you set the adjustable feet. The waterline and drain hose just extend a few inches out the back access port so you’ll probably need some additional hoses both water supply & drain to get the sink working. Once I got it plumbed & plugged in (you’ll need access to AC power for the grill) and propane tank hooked up, everything worked perfectly! The grill cooks evenly & retains heat amazingly well. You could easily cook 2 pizzas in it! It feels very solidly built, and everything is stainless steel (no cheap powder coated parts) The grill & beverage center together just look awesome, and LED lights are really cool. I would definitely recommend Mont Alpi 805 grill & beverage center for anyone looking for a great modular outdoor kitchen!. Kristen. CA. 2021-04-07 00:52:19
